M/S Henrik Ibsen
M/S Henrik Ibsen® was built in Gothenburg in 1907 and trafficked the Swedish coastline under the name M/S Styrsö up to 1993. It was then moved to the Telemark Canal and was renamed after the famous Skien poet Henrik Ibsen. The ship was totally refurbished in 2010, and her capacity today is 99 passengers.
M/S Henrik Ibsen cruises the Telemark Canal daily in season. This journey on “the Canal King” is a unique cultural and historical journey through spectacular scenery and fantastic lock constructions, seen as the 8th wonder of the world when completed at the end of the 19th century.
The ship offers first class onboard service. Delicious dishes can be enjoyed on the Promenade Deck, in the Aft Salon restaurant or in the Café. A rich variety of wine or other beverages is available to make your meal complete. The combination of a canal cruise and a stay at Dalen Hotel 1894 is often referred to as “spa for the soul”.
We are proud to invite you onboard M/S Henrik Ibsen to a spectacular and authentic trip on the Telemark Canal, one of Norway’s most beautiful nature experiences.
